TikTok influencer Kyle Marisa Roth has tragically died at 36.
Her sister, Lindsay, announced the news Monday on Instagram, claiming the content creator passed away last week.
“I know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more – she had so many gifts,” she wrote. “If anyone wants to connect about Kyle, I’m here to talk and share memories.”
Here’s everything to know about her.
Who was she?
Roth was a TikTok influencer known for her commentary on celebrities, pop culture and entertainment news. She had more than 175,000 followers on the platform.
She was a Lehigh University graduate and lacrosse player from Pennsylvania.
“This makes me really sad,” one fan on Reddit wrote about Roth’s death.
“I enjoyed her videos whether or not the blinds were true and she had a fun personality! She really seemed to enjoy engaging with her audience and was never mean spirited, which is easy to get into with celebrity gossip.”
Why was she controversial?
Roth was known for talking about celebrity blind items.
She started many of her videos with her catch phrase, “You want more? I’ll give you more.”
Blind items are inherently controversial because they’re unverified rumors where celebs or their reps are not asked to confirm or deny their accuracy.
For instance, in one video, Roth read tabloid rumors about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, and speculated, “I think Timothee gets a cut [of Jenner’s business], I think that’s part of his deal.”
In another video, she called Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, “A p.r. relationship” and said that Kelce was “addicted to” attention. She also called J.Lo “J Lulu.”
Neither Chalamet nor Kelce were asked to comment on such speculation, which is why this form of gossip is considered controversial.
How did she pass away?
“We don’t know [what] happened yet,” her sister Lindsay wrote in her Instagram post.
Roth had previously shared that she was a colon cancer survivor. However, that has not been noted as her cause of death at this time.
In an Instagram post in February, she highlighted the various health obstacles that she had overcome.
“3 major abdominal surgeries. 1 reconstructive shoulder surgery. Over a dozen broken bones. One torn meniscus. Several car accidents. Even more concussions. Collegiate lacrosse. Soccer at elementary school recess. 3 missing internal organs. BUT LOTS OF BAD ASS F**KING SCARS.”
Her family has not revealed the cause of death. Her mom, Jacquie Cohen Roth, also reacted to the news on LinkedIn, writing, “My daughter Kyle has passed away. She touched some of your lives personally and some of your lives via her immense life on another platform. Kyle loved and lived fiercely.”
About her sudden passing, she wrote, “Nothing makes sense now and we’ll understand more in the next few days.”
What have people said about her?
In the wake of the sudden tragedy, fellow TikTokers and celebs have paid tribute to her.
Fellow TikToker Ophelia Nichols commented, “will miss you so much.I can’t stop thinking about her family right now.”
The Zoe Roe Show account added, “Omg I can’t believe this you will be soo missed.”
“Uncut Gems” star Julia Fox commented on Lindsay’s post, writing, “I know I never met Kyle in real life, but I really felt like I knew her. I’m so devastated and have been crying ever since the news leaked on TikTok. I really hope she [didn’t] suffer and I hope she knew how much she touched our lives. She was a ray of sunshine and I will miss her deeply.”
