Powerball tickets worth $50K each were sold at these 4 N.J. stores

The four $50,000 Powerball tickets sold in New Jersey for Wednesday’s lottery drawing were bought in four different counties.

The lucky third-prize Powerball tickets, each of which matched four numbers plus the Powerball were sold at the following locations:

  • Middlesex County: Sunoco at the Joyce Kilmer Service Area on the northbound New Jersey Turnpike in East Brunswick
  • Passaic County: Union Food Store on Union Boulevard in Totowa
  • Salem County: Buck Road Mini Mart on Buck Road in the Monroeville
  • Somerset County: ShopRite on Morristown Road in Bernardsville

No one across the country hit Wednesday’s $873 million Powerball jackpot, pushing the top prize for the next drawing Saturday to an estimated $935 million with a cash option of $449.7 million.

If someone wins, it will the 11th largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. No one has hit the Powerball jackpot since a lottery player in Michigan won the $842.4 million jackpot on New Year’s Day.

Three second-prize, $1 million tickets were purchased — one apiece in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Texas. Each matched five numbers but not the Powerball. Pennsylvania Lottery officials have not disclosed where the ticket was sold.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 37, 46, 57, 60 and 66. The Powerball drawn was 8, with a Power Play of 2X.

In addition, no one hit the the secondary $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 31, 47, 52, 53 and 57. The Double Play number drawn was 23.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who bought a $2 ticket had about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds were 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
