- But he’s due in court soon on multiple counts of aggravated sexual battery
- DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news
As Taylor Swift took in Sunday afternoon’s NFL matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, she sat in a suite joined by a number of others.
She partied next to Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany as they watched on as their significant others put on a dazzling display on the field.
But joining them in that same luxury box was Jackson Mahomes – a social media influencer and Patrick’s brother.
Jackson’s week will take a significantly different turn than when he was joyfully watching from the suite when he sits in a courtroom facing serious charges.
But what has Jackson Mahomes been accused of? When is he due in court? And what has he said about the allegations? DailyMail.com gets you up to speed.
What is Jackson Mahomes alleged to have done?
Jackson Mahomes has been accused of – and charged with – three felony counts of aggravated sexual battery and one misdemeanor battery count.
This all stems from an incident on February 25 – where Mahomes is alleged to have forcibly kissed a woman in the office of a restaurant she owned at the time in Overland Park, Kansas – a Kansas City suburb.
The alleged victim in this case is Aspen Vaughn – whose encounter with Mahomes was captured in security footage.
She says that she’s had to close the restaurant due to the amount of publicity negatively impacting the business.
When is the court date?
Mahomes is set to be in court on Tuesday, October 24 for a preliminary hearing.
This hearing was initially set to be held back in August, but was postponed when the judge presiding over the case contracted a bout of Covid-19.
What does he say about the allegations?
Mahomes has pled not guilty to all the charges he has been accused of and is currently free on $100,000 bond.
Jackson has not publicly spoken about the case, with his agent telling CNN that the ‘court has prohibited [Jackson] and lawyers from commenting on the matter’.
But Brittany Mahomes once spoke out against the allegations when replying to a question about them on an Instagram Q&A.
‘He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s**t about him,’ she said.
What did Taylor Swift fans think about him being there?
A number of fans of the international pop music sensation were concerned for her well being after seeing that Jackson was in the suite.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: ‘I’m going to need someone to get her out of that box immediately. Jackson Mahomes is there.’
Another Taylor fan – and former star of The Bachelorette – Nick Viall added: ‘Chiefs security should be ashamed for letting Jackson Mahomes in the same room as Taylor Swift.’
A third, meanwhile, noted: ‘Putting Jackson Mahomes in the box with Taylor so he gets good coverage before his preliminary hearing for his SA case in TWO DAYS is so f***ing sinister.’
