Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ sash is set to spark a new fashion frenzy

Beyoncé is turning the tide once again in the fashion world, this time with a sash.

Ever since the singer appeared with a cowboy hat and western attire at the Super Bowl last month, along with the drop of her new country tracks, she’s adopted western look after western look, and fans have swiftly followed suit.

Recently the “Renaissance” singer dropped the cover art for her upcoming album that featured a sash with the words “Cowboy Carter” etched across. Another photo featured a different sash draped across her body that bared the words,” act II BEYINCE,” (her mother’s family name).

Inspired by those photos, BeyHive member Shannon McClain took it upon herself to make her own sash out of a strip of white polyester fabric lined with pleated red and blue ribbons.

Of course, with any Beyoncé-inspired sash, a personal statement must be stamped across it, right?

You guessed it: McClain chose the word: BEYHIVE.

The 34-year-old, who loves crafting and collecting unique items of clothing, never considered wearing a sash until she saw the “Cozy” singer rocking the accessory.

“They’re just so beautiful,” McClain said to The Washington Post. “I knew immediately I had to try to DIY those. … So I went downstairs and got out the sewing machine.”

Now, many fans are crafting their own sashes by hand while others are running to Etsy sellers for custom sashes embroidered with their own personal statements.

Allie Bird, 31, wanted her own sash, but flocked to Etsy to customize and order a “Cowboy Allie” sash from an Etsy seller. It’s an accessory she plans on wearing for a future show or rodeo.

“I definitely wanted to have it before the rush comes in because a lot of the silver ‘Renaissance’ stuff just increased in price so drastically,” Birde said to The Washington Post. “So I was basically just trying to get ahead of it.”

It’s pretty safe to say if another world tour happens for Act II, it’ll be just as big with fans packing stadiums – wall to wall – and adorning custom-made sashes, worldwide.

“Beyoncé seems ready to take us on another amazing journey, and I want to hear and understand more of that,” McClain said to The Washington Post. “I think it’s really interesting that the disco cowboy hat was such a signifier of ‘Renaissance’ when we didn’t really understand why the cowboy hat [was important] yet. So I think there’s more to be uncovered here still.”

Beyonce’s anxiously awaited country album drops on Friday, March 29.
