Salt & Straw Is Reissuing 5 Ice Cream Flavors For Its Nostalgic April Series

The traditional dairy-based flavors include just as many flavor twists. The Strawberry Cilantro Lime Cheesecake, which was part of Salt & Straw’s first summer berry series, is a strawberry ice cream swirled with cilantro lime cheesecake and bits of graham cracker crust to complete the flavor profile. Next up, the Sweet Corn and Waffle Cones — a flavor that the brand made in partnership with chef April Bloomfield – is corn ice cream with a ribbon of brown butter caramel and pieces of charred corn and crunchy chocolate-covered waffle cone.

The Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese is a throwback to Salt & Straw’s beginnings in Los Angeles; it’s the first flavor that the company introduced there. The ice cream base is made with cave-aged goat cheese in collaboration with Cypress Grove Creamery. This is laced with crisp bites of butter brittle made from cured black olives. Finally, Honey Marshmallow Rocky Road, which first debuted in 2012, plays on the classic flavor. It’s cinnamon and ancho chile chocolate ice cream with candied hazelnuts and honey marshmallows folded throughout.

So, whether you are a long-time fan or someone who’s new to the brand, the Vault Series of past flavors offers something for everyone. The selection, released March 31, can be found in Salt & Straw stores or ordered online for nationwide shipping.
