Alessandra Rich imagined the spring 2024 collection as a wardrobe for what Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, would wear when she is ready to let loose on Earth.
Her signature retro WASP style went monotone this time, with a dash of punk and metallic influence. Instead of kitten heels, models wore high-heeled boots to go with leather jackets with metal zips, or biker jacket-inspired silver tweed suits. There was only one pink tweed skirt, and the sheer doll dresses left very little to the imagination.
The collection signaled a new phase for the brand. Enough of colorful and lady-like outfits for high tea — the Alessandra Rich woman this season isn’t afraid to embrace her sexuality and hit the night scene.
“They are girls born to be Venus. They come from the sky and land straight on the catwalk. Their trip to Earth is all about having fun, to party, and feeling the vibe from another planet,” said the designer backstage, while pointing to the majestic stained-glass ceiling of the show venue, the Reformed Church of the Holy Spirit in Paris.
