The programme, which has already gained over 25 million global subscribers, offers benefits like trip credits and discounts, as well as partnerships with platforms like Zomato.
Here are the top five things to know about the Uber One subscription:
1. Pricing options
Uber One offers three tiers of membership: ₹149 for a monthly plan, ₹349 for three months, and ₹1,499 annually, giving users multiple choices based on their budget and usage.
2. Member benefits
Subscribers can avail of Uber Credits, capped at ₹150 per trip, along with other perks like a complimentary three-month Zomato Gold membership, enhancing the value for frequent users.
3. Cancellation
Only annual subscribers can cancel their plan. Post-cancellation, all membership benefits, including trip credits, are immediately discontinued.
4. A global offering, now in India
Uber One has been available in countries like the US since 2021 and Canada for the past year, making its Indian debut part of Uber’s strategy to boost loyalty in competitive markets.
5. Competitive landscape
Uber’s launch comes as new entrants like Namma Yatri intensify competition in India’s ride-hailing market. Namma Yatri recently secured $11 million in funding, focusing on driver-friendly subscription features.
In addition to launching Uber One, the company has extended its support to the Indian government’s Code on Social Security (CoSS) by promoting registrations on the e-Shram portal.
This initiative aims to provide a safety net for gig and unorganised workers, reflecting Uber’s focus on creating a “safer, easier, and fairer” platform for its drivers.
