“Squid Game” Season 2 just dropped its full trailer the hype is real — Round 2 is about to start and the stakes are higher than ever.
Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), also known as Player 456, reenters the Squid Game after three years in order to find the people behind it and end the deadly sport.
The new set of players participate in the iconic Red Light Green Light game in the same room with the giant robotic doll. New games are also in store, with the players hopping aboard a spinning carousel, as well as one where they have to choose a side featuring the letters “X” and “O” marked on the floor.
Gi Hun has become more of a stronger character who guides his fellow players in the games in the hopes of starting an uprising.
“I’m trying to put an end to this game,” he said in the trailer.
“Those who created this game, we should fight them,” he added.
The trailer also featured the Front Man welcoming Gi Hun back to the game, armed soldiers in red suits, and intense fights in the dorm. New contestants were also revealed.
“Squid Game” Season 2 premieres on December 26 on Netflix. The final season is coming in 2025.
Aside from Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, and Gong Yoo will reprise their roles from Season 1. The new cast members include Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Uk, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Sim, Lee David, Choi Seung Hyun, Roh Jae Won, Jo Yu Ri, and Won Ji An.
