BE 6e priced at ₹18.9 lakh, XEV 9e at ₹23.59 lakh: Mahindra unveils aggressive EV strategy
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has announced the pricing of its much-anticipated electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, with the BE 6e starting at an ex-showroom price of ₹18.9 lakh and the XEV 9e likely to cost ₹23.59 lakh, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, said. With these aggressive price points, the company is positioning itself as a strong contender in the burgeoning EV market.

The on-road price of the BE 6e is expected to be ₹20.36 lakh, making it a more affordable alternative to market favourites like the Toyota Rumion and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which currently dominate the utility vehicle segment with combined monthly sales of 21,000 units.

The total UV market records around 44,000 vehicle sales per month, meaning these two models alone account for nearly half of the segment’s sales.

To enhance the EV ownership experience, Mahindra plans to assign a dedicated relationship manager to each EV buyer. These managers will assist with all charging requirements, ensuring a smooth transition to electric mobility.

Jejurikar also confirmed that Mahindra has onboarded 500 executives to exclusively promote its EVs at dealerships across the country.

Launch timeline

Sales for the BE 6e and XEV 9e are set to commence in January 2025, with deliveries starting by the end of February 2025.
