According to the subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, this initiative aligns with Kia’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position in the global automotive supply chain.
The company also revealed that it has surpassed the milestone of exporting 100,000 CKD vehicle units since shipments began in June 2020 from its Anantapur manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.

Currently, Kia India accounts for 50% of Kia Corporation’s global CKD exports, highlighting the critical role of its Indian operations.
In total, the company has exported 367,000 vehicles, including popular models such as the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens.
In 2024, Kia India aims to export over 38,000 CKD units to key markets, including Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam.
Kia’s Anantapur plant, equipped with advanced manufacturing technology, is strategically located near major ports, enabling efficient logistics for exports.

Expanding into the Middle East and Africa is central to Kia India’s growth strategy, given the rising demand in these regions for affordable and reliable vehicles.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, said, *“Looking ahead, we aim to expand our CKD footprint in the Middle East and Africa to double our export volume by 2030.”*
He also praised the Indian government’s export-friendly policies, noting their role in supporting this growth and enhancing India’s position in the global automotive value chain.
Kia India stated that its focus on CKD exports complements its efforts to meet domestic demand while solidifying its position as a global manufacturing hub.
