Auto Wrap: Mercedes-Benz G 580 EQ, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and more

This week, the auto sector saw some major launches and updates from the top brands. The highlights of the week were the Mercedes-Benz G 580 EQ, Honda Elevate and Bajaj Pulsar RS200.

Here’s a look at some of the top auto launches this week:

Mercedes-Benz G 580 EQ

Mercedes-Benz launched the G 580 with EQ Tech in the Indian market, the first release in 2025 from the luxury brand. Priced at ₹3 crore (ex-showroom), the much-anticipated G-Class features two 12.3-inch screens. The electric version boasts three electric motors that deliver a combined output of 580 bhp and 1164 Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450

Mercedes-Benz has also launched the EQS SUV 450, highlighting the focus on the growing EV market. The EQS SUV 450 is equipped with dual electric motors that produce 360 hp and 800 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The SUV features a 5-seat configuration and a spacious interior with advanced technology. Priced at ₹1.28 crore (ex-showroom), the latest model targets eco-conscious luxury buyers in the country.

Honda Elevate

Honda launched two new variants of its SUV, the Honda Elevate — the Black Edition and the Signature Black Edition. These models are available in the Crystal Black Pearl colour. The Black Edition ZX MT is offered at ₹15,51,000, the Black Edition ZX CVT at ₹16,73,000, the Signature Black Edition ZX MT at ₹15,71,000 and the Signature Black Edition ZX CVT at ₹16,93,000. Both variants come with leatherette seats, black door panels, and armrests.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 Series

Suzuki Motorcycle India launched the OBD-2B-compliant range of its 250 cc motorcycles, featuring the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250. The Gixxer SF 250 is offered at ₹2.07 lakh, while the Gixxer 250 is priced at ₹1.98 lakh. The latest model boasts a 249 cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 26.5 hp at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm at 7,300 rpm.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200

Bajaj Auto launched the 2025 iteration of the Pulsar RS200 in India with a starting price of ₹1.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Initially launched in 2015, the bike carries forward a design very similar to its previous iteration. The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 continues to have a twin-projector LED headlamp. The updated version now has an LCD panel and a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc brake at the rear end.
