In the domestic market, the film has grossed ₹1,215 crore in 36 days. The film made ₹725.8 crore in its first week, ₹264.8 crore in its second week, followed by ₹129.5 crore in its third week and ₹69.65 crore in its fourth week.
On Thursday, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 10.20% for the Telugu version, whereas its Hindi shows logged an overall occupancy of 7.83%. Meanwhile, the film will now face competition from Ram Charan and Kiara Advani-led Game Changer, which hit the theatres on Friday, January 10.
The makers have also announced the release of the extended version of the film. It will offer the audience an additional 20 minutes of clip, bringing the total runtime to 3 hours and 40 minutes. Initially planned for January 11, the release has now been postponed to January 17 due to some technical issues.
Announcing the postponement, Mythri Movie Makers shared a post on X, writing, “#Pushpa2Reloaded in cinemas from January 17th.” “Due to technical delays in processing the content, the reloaded version of Pushpa 2 The Rule is delayed. It will now screen in theatres from 17th January instead of 11th January as planned earlier. Happy Sankranthi, everyone! The extended version will be worth the wait with additional whistle-worthy moments. The wildfire gets more fiery,” the post read.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rise. It is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. The film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bhardwaj and Sunil in pivotal roles.
It was released in theatres worldwide on December 5 in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.
