TCS | India’s largest IT services company reported an 11.95% jump in its December quarter net profit to ₹12,380 crore. The Tata Group company had reported a net profit of ₹11,058 crore in the year-ago period and ₹11,909 crore for the preceding September quarter. The company’s revenue grew 5.6% to ₹63,973 crore against ₹60,583 crore in the year-ago period. However, it was down from ₹64,259 crore in the September quarter.
IREDA | The company has reported a 26.8% year-on-year increase in its net profit (profit after tax) for the third quarter, reaching ₹425.4 crore compared to ₹335.5 crore in the same period last year. Sequentially, IREDA’s PAT jumped 10% from nearly ₹388 crore in Q2FY25. IREDA’s total revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,698.45 crore, which surged over 35% in Q3FY25, compared to almost Rs 1,253 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
Adani Wilmar | The company announced that its founder will be selling stake in the company through an Offer For Sale (OFS). Adani Commodities, the Adani Group promoter entity of Adani Wilmar will be selling a 13.5% stake or 17.54 crore shares in the company through this OFS, Adani Wilmar said in its exchange filing on Thursday evening. This is the base issue size.
Adani Total Gas | The company announced that it has received communication from the nodal agency, GAIL (India) Ltd, regarding a 20% rise of its administered price mechanism (APM) gas allocation, effective from January 16, 2025. This revision comes after previous updates on the reduction in APM gas allocation, as communicated on October 17 and November 15, 2024. The increase in allocation is expected to have a positive impact on the company. “This upward revision will have a positive impact on the company and will help in stabilising the retail prices to end consumers,” it said.
Phoenix Mills | Realty firm reported strong growth for Q3 FY25 and the first nine months of FY25, driven by robust performance across its retail, hospitality, commercial office, and residential segments. Retail consumption for Q3 FY25 reached approximately ₹3,998 crore, marking a 21% increase compared to Q3 FY24. On a like-to-like basis, excluding Phoenix Mall of the Millennium and Phoenix Mall of Asia, consumption grew by 10%.
GTPL Hathway | Digital cable TV and broadband service provider GTPL Hathway Ltd on Thursday (January 8) reported a 57.2% year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit at ₹10.1 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2024. In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, GTPL Hathway posted a net profit of ₹23.6 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company’s revenue from operations increased 4.3% to ₹887.2 crore against ₹850.8 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
Samvardhana Motherson | Auto components major announced significant measures through its indirect subsidiary, MSSL Consolidated Inc. (MSSL Consol), to secure Prysm Systems’ assets and patented technology. MSSL Consol had previously invested in Prysm Systems Inc., a technology-driven entity, through 12% optionally convertible secured notes. However, due to unmet conditions for converting the notes into equity, SMIL has opted for an alternative strategy to safeguard its investment.
IRB Infrastructure | The company said the company and IRB Infrastructure Trust have reported a 19% year-on-year (YoY) growth in toll collections for December 2024. The total toll collection for the month amounted to ₹580 crore, up from ₹488 crore in December 2023.
Indian Overseas Bank | Public sector bank said it has invited expressions of interest (EOIs) from asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) for the sale of 46 non-performing asset (NPA) accounts, collectively valued at ₹11,500 crore. The sale of these 46 NPA accounts will be conducted through an e-auction, using the open auction method on a portfolio basis. The accounts include those financed under consortium arrangements, with some admitted under the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
Reliance Industries | The company has announced that it will be declaring its December quarter results next Thursday, January 16. In an exchange filing, the company also announced that it made public a presentation for the quarter gone by to the analysts and media.
Tata Elxsi | The company reported a 13.3% quarter-on-quarter decline in net profit at ₹199 crore for the period ending December 31, 2024, compared to ₹229.4 crore in the September quarter. Revenue for the quarter stood at ₹939.2 crore, which was 1.7% down as compared to ₹955.1 crore in the September quarter. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA), fell compared to the September quarter, declining 7.7% to ₹220.7 crore from ₹239.2 crore.
Hindustan Zinc | Vedanta Group company disclosed a penalty of ₹35.35 crore imposed by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Udaipur. “The company has received an Order from the Office of the Commissioner of State Tax, Udaipur confirming a penalty of ₹35,35,16,226 along with Tax demand and applicable Interest. The issue pertains to dispute on Input Tax Credit under Section 17(5) during FY 2017-18,” Hindustan Zinc said in a regulatory filing.
BGR Energy Systems | Engineering and construction major announced the receipt of a rectification order dated January 8, 2025, from the Assistant Commissioner of GST, Ponneri, Tiruvallur. The rectification order has dropped the tax liability of ₹35.07 crore, which was previously determined in a demand order dated August 31, 2024. The order relates to the tax period of April 2019-2020 under the TN GST Act 2017 and CGST Act. As a result of the rectification, no tax liability will be incurred by the company, effectively clearing the demand for the specified period.
Polyplex Corporation | The company has unveiled plans to establish a new BOPET (Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate) manufacturing film plant in India, aiming to bolster its production capacity by 52,400 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company disclosed this development following its board meeting on January 9, 2025. BOPET films are polyester films known for their strength, transparency, and excellent barrier properties.
