Mumbai becomes the latest city to join BluSmart’s electric mobility network, which has already seen success in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and the UAE.
Initially, BluSmart’s services in Mumbai will be available through am invite-only system before it becomes widely accessible.
Founded in 2019, BluSmart has already grown to operate a fleet of over 8,500 electric vehicles, supported by a robust charging infrastructure with 5,800 charging stations.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Anirudh Arun, Co-Founder and CEO of BluSmart Fleet, said the company’s launch strategy in Mumbai is focused on catering to the city’s preference for high-quality service. Initially, the fleet will feature premium MG ZS EV SUVs paired with experienced, premium driver partners. “We focus on serving all the use cases our customers expect, which is why we’re starting with rentals and airport rides—both of which are key for Mumbai’s passengers. In time, we will expand our fleet to include sedans and additional ride options, growing alongside the city’s evolving mobility needs,” he added.
BluSmart’s commitment to delivering top-tier service is also reflected in its approach to charging infrastructure. The company has partnered with several public charging network companies to ensure its electric vehicles are well-supported across Mumbai. BluSmart is also utilising its driver app to expose its partners to the public charging network, which is continuously developing in the city.
Arun pointed out that while the public charging network is still expanding, BluSmart is working diligently behind the scenes to develop its own charging infrastructure to support its fleet further and offer a seamless experience for both drivers and passengers.
