Badass Ravi Kumar Trailer: Himesh Reshammiya returns in retro action avatar, film set to release on Feb 7

The trailer for Badass Ravi Kumar was unveiled on Sunday, January 5, and set the internet ablaze. Starring Himesh Reshammiya, this retro action musical is a nod to the golden era of Bollywood. Set in the 1980s, the film promises high-octane action and a nostalgic “80s type ki picture” experience.

Reshammiya reprises his role as Ravi Kumar from the 2014 film The Xpose, bringing his trademark charm to a much larger-than-life narrative. In this new instalment, his character channels the essence of Animal

‘s Ranvijay, wielding a chainsaw in the battle against bad guys. The trailer is brimming with power-packed dialogues, embracing retro Bollywood in its full glory.

With its over-the-top action, the trailer of Badass Ravi Kumar feels like a parody of Animal and every heist film Bollywood has ever made. Prabhu Deva stars as the antagonist, Carlos Pedro Panther. Kriti Kulhari plays Laila while Sunny Leone adds to the retro charm with a dance number. Fans will also get a special treat with Tandoori Days, a spin on Reshammiya’s popular Tandoori Nights from Karzzzz.

Directed by Keith Gomes and produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, Badass Ravi Kumar also stars Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Manish Wadhwa, and Anil George. The screenplay is penned by Himesh Reshammiya and Kushal Bakshi. The film is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2025.
