Mumbai Metro to run extended Services on Mahrashtra election day
The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation (MMRC) said on November 19 that to prepare for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election on November 20, metro services will be extended to accommodate the increased rush of voters’ transportation needs of and election staff.

To ensure smoother travel, metro services will commence earlier and run later than usual, with the first train departing at 4 am, the extended hours will help manage heightened passenger volume through the day.

The election will be held in a single phase for all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra on November 20. The state government has issued guidelines on the operation of public services, including transportation. Metro services, along with BEST buses in Mumbai, will continue to run until midnight, ensuring that the public have access to transportation throughout election day.

To assist with transportation needs, MMRC has added additional trips and extended the operational hours. The metro will run on November 20 until 1 am on November 21, with 20 extra trips scheduled during this period to help ease congestion. The extended schedule applies to both BKC and Aarey JVLR stations, ensuring convenience of voters and election personnel.
