The victims, which include two children, have been identified as Chandrayagappa Gaul (48), Gaurabai (42), Vijayalakshmi (36), Jaan (16), Deeksha (12) and Arya (6). According to reports, the deceased were on their way to Vijayapura.
Reportedly, the incident happened when two cars suddenly appeared in front of the truck. This caused the truck to skid and topple onto the car.
This accident led to severe traffic disruptions on the Bengaluru-Tumkur National Highway. Bengaluru District Police has alerted the commuters about traffic disruption on the route following the accident.
Sharing the photos of the accident site on X, CK Baba, Superintendent of Police (Bengaluru Rural), wrote, “Traffic advisory: Slow-moving traffic in Bengaluru-Tumkur National Highway due to vehicle accidents between canter and car near Beguru in Nelamangala. Kindly cooperate.”

Meanwhile, authorities have cleared the accident site and vehicle movement is being slowly restored on the National Highway in both directions. SP Bengaluru District Police confirmed the latest update on the matter.

Further investigation into the accident is underway.
In a similar incident last month, on November 28, three people were killed on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway after their speeding car lost control and collided with a bus coming from the opposite direction.
The victims, residents of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru, were travelling in a Hyundai i10 car to Mysuru to attend a family event.
