Taher Badshah, Chief Investment Officer at Invesco Mutual Fund, shared insights into current market trends during CNBC-TV18’s Market Townhall on Wednesday, December 18. He noted that most companies are in capex mode, reflecting robust growth trends across sectors.
Badshah highlighted the small molecules segment within the pharmaceutical industry as a promising area, emphasising its long-term potential. The power sector also stands out as a key focus, with a transition towards diverse energy sources driving demand for transformers and grid makers.
Companies like Hitachi, Siemens, and ABB are well-positioned to benefit from this shift, he added.
“We expect significant growth in the power sector as it evolves to include different forms of energy,” said Badshah. He also revealed that Invesco holds a sizeable position in Suven Pharma, indicating confidence in the company’s prospects.
