Yasmien Kurdi wrote a message of encouragement for her daughter, Ayesha Zara, amid the alleged bullying she’s experiencing.
The Kapuso actress posted a video on Facebook of her eldest child hosting their school showcase.
Yasmien told her daughter in the video’s text, “Stay true to who you are, Ayesha.”
“As long as you’re not stepping on anyone’s toes, there’s no need to change your personality,” she added. “We love you for exactly who you are, so don’t change for those who fail to appreciate you.”
In early December, Yasmien claimed that Ayesha was getting bullied in school.
Yasmien said her daughter “was ganged up on” and “targeted” by students for not replying to messages about their school Christmas party. She was also blocked by students into not leaving their classroom and denied food during their breaks.
Another student also allegedly took a video of Ayesha without her consent, causing her “paranoia and anxiety.”
“She has been enduring this type of bullying since Grade 2, alarmingly this has led to the creation of an online ‘Ayesha Hate Club’ targeting her,” the actress said.
Yasmien also previously shared her heartbreak upon finding a polaroid photo of Ayesha that’s been cut up into pieces.
Yasmien is set to meet with Department of Education chief Sonny Angara on Thursday “to discuss potential solutions and strategies” to address bullying in schools.
Ayesha is Yasmien’s eldest child with Rey Soldevilla. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Raya Layla in May.
