2 / 12The report shared by the Union Minister was based on the data received from several states and Union Territories and highlights the alarming rise in road fatalities. It shows that road accident fatalities across India jumped from 1,57,593 in 2018 to 1,68,491 in 2022, while the COVID-19 pandemic-affected period of 2020-21 also witnessed more than 2.92 lakh deaths, despite the nationwide lockdown.
