Nadia Montenegro‘s youngest daughter, Sophia Asistio, shared on Mikee Quintos’s show “Lutong Bahay” that she talks to her dad, Baron Geisler.
On Thursday’s episode, Mikee and Kuya Dudut visited Nadia and Sophia, where they cooked the veteran actress’s callos recipe.
As the group’s conversation deepened throughout the show, Mikee asked Nadia how she told Sophia the news that Baron is her father.
According to the actress, she did not tell Sophia about it and only her late partner, Boy Asistio, and Sophia’s siblings knew about her father. However, Sophia had always known, and she was the one who confronted Nadia when she was 16 years old.
“She knew inside pero she confronted me when she was 16. I didn’t find any reason naman to parang idutdut pa ‘yung truth kung nakikita ko naman okay naman kami. She’s in contact with her dad,” said Nadia.
Sophia attested to this, saying, “I talk to my dad, but since I grew up with Daddy Boy, syempre iba pa rin ‘yung soft place niya sa heart ko.”
The 18-year-old also said that she is proud of her last name and doesn’t wish to change it.
“When I see comments na parang, ‘Bakit ganito ‘yung apelyido mo?’ ngayon ko lang sasagutin, I’m very proud sa apleyido na meron ako ngayon. I take pride and kung hindi ko siya kailangan palitan, hindi ko papalitan ‘yung apelyido ko, hindi talaga.”
She added that she hasn’t found the right term yet to call Baron, “When I talk to him, I just say po, ganun lang.”
When asked by Mikee if she and Baron are starting to become close, she said that she still has boundaries with him.
“I’ve been trying to respect pero there’s still boundaries because I’ve tried na din, parang second chance na lang din ‘to.”
She also affirmed to Mikee that she wants to have a relationship with him.
“Yeah, meron naman. Syempre hindi ko rin i-c-cut off ‘yung ganung opportunity, baka may mahanap ako sa sarili ko na mas makabubuti pala sa akin. Baka mas mag-grow ako as a person, if may nakita akong, ‘Uy may similarities pala kami,'” she explained.
Meanwhile, Nadia shared that she advises Sophia not to read comments from netizens who know nothing about what they’re going through.
“The right time will come naman kasi hindi naman kayang ako lang mag-isa ang gumagawa ng paraan. Hindi rin naman p-pwedeng siya lang ang gumagawa ng paraan,” she said, referring to her daughter.
During the show’s Kitchen-terrogate segment, Mikee also asked Nadia if she has forgiven Baron.
“Oo naman. Napatawad ko na siya. Ang tanong, napatawad na ba niya ang sarili niya? We’re open to reconciliation and to forgiveness,” she answered.
In July, Nadia confirmed in “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that Baron is the father of Sophia.
She also revealed then that her daughter has always known Baron is her real dad. Her late partner Boy also knew and that his only request was to not tell Sophia until he’s gone.
In August, Sophia celebrated her 18th birthday.
