Eight thousand individuals in Negros Occidental who were affected by Kanlaon Volcano’s eruption early this week received aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to “24 Oras” on Wednesday, among the beneficiaries of the relief operations is Marianie Celestial, a resident of Bago City who’s still recovering from the Kanlaon Volcano’s eruption back in June.

Marianie shared that her pet chickens have gotten sick due to the thick ashfall caused by the eruption.

Through its Operation Bayanihan project, the foundation distributed relief goods and KN95 masks to 8,000 residents of Barangays Ilijan and Mailum in Bago City.

“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa GMA Kapuso Foundation sa pagbibigay ng tulong sa ating mga kababayan dito. Dahil po sa pagputok ng Bulkang Kanlaon, ang ating mga kababayan po ay napinsala ang kanilang kabuhayan,” said Philippine Army 303rd Brigade Commander, BGen. Ted Dumosmog.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso foundation’s projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit GMA Kapuso Foundation’s website for more information.

Meanwhile, the Noel Bazaar will run from December 12 to 15 at the Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City.

Visitors may drop by GMA Kapuso Foundation’s booth at the event. A donation of P250 is equal to a complete set of school supplies, which will be distributed to Kinder and Grade 1 students under the foundation’s Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan project.
