A ‘jatha’ of 101 farmers, organised by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, was stopped near the Ghaggar river bridge by multilayered barricading and a heavy police presence. Despite the use of tear gas, some protesters managed to push through iron barricades.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher confirmed that five to six protesters were injured during the clashes and taken to a hospital. “We have suspended the march for the day to avoid further injuries,” he said.

The Ambala administration imposed Section 144, banning gatherings of more than five people in the district, and invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to prohibit the march.
Farmer unions are now deliberating on their next steps, with tensions remaining high. The protest is part of ongoing efforts to pressure the central government to provide legal guarantees for MSP, which the farmers argue is vital for their economic security.
