On X (formerly known as Twitter), the police shared the advisory, saying, “In view of the Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar a large number of devotees are expected to visit Chaityabhoomi, Dadar. To avoid inconvenience following traffic arrangement will be in place from 6 am of December 5th Dec till December 7 midnight.”

One Way / Closure of roads:
Swatantryaveer Savarkar Road will remain shut from Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to Hinduja Hospital for vehicular traffic. However, commuters can proceed to their destination by taking a left turn from Yes Bank Junction and proceeding through Pandurang Naik Road towards Rajabade Chowk.
There will be one-way traffic movement from Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Junction to Portuguese Church Junction from the North Bound of SK Bole Road means there will be no entry to vehicular traffic from southbound.
No vehicle will be allowed to enter Rande Road.
Dhyaneshwar Mandir Road will be closed to all types of vehicular traffic.
No entry of vehicles on Jambhekar Maharaj Road, Keluskar Road South and Keluskar Road North.
Vehicle entry is prohibited on M.B. Raut Road, T. H. Katariya Road .
Vehicular traffic is restricted from L. J. Road Shobha Hotel Junction to Aasavari Junction.
Heavy vehicle restriction:
There will be restrictions on heavy vehicles on the Mumbai routes mentioned below.
- Heavy vehicle entry is prohibited on SVS road from Mahim Junction to Hardikar Junction.
- No heavy vehicles allowed on LJ Road from Mahim Junction to Gadkari Junction.
- On Gokhale Road, heavy vehicle movement is restricted from Gadkil Junction to Dhanmil Naka.
- Similarly, no heavy vehicles are allowed on Senapati Bapat Road from Mahim Railway Station to Vadacha Naka.
- Road closed for vehicular traffic from Dadar TT Circle to Veer Kotwal Udyan to NC Kelkar Road.
Advisory instructions in case of heavy traffic congestion:
South Bound Traffic: Vehicular traffic coming from Western Express Highway and proceeding towards South Mumbai through L. J. Road or Senapati Bapat Road.
Substitute Road: Commuters can take a left turn from Kalanagar Junction and proceed to Dharavi T Junction to Sion Railway Station or 60 ft Road Dharavi via Kumbharwad to Sion Hospital, and take a right turn to B. A. Road, OR they can use Bandra-Worli Sea Link to proceed further to their destination.
North-Bound Traffic: A) North-bound vehicular traffic coming from Colaba &. C.S.T Though B.A. Road or Annie Besant Road.
Substitute Road: People can use P’ D’mello Road, Barrister Nath Pai Road, Zakeria Bunder Rd., R.A.K. Marg upto Matunga then take right turn under Arora bridge and proceed along Dr. B. A. Rd, and further on via Sion Hosital Junction, OR shall proceed via Worli-Bandra Sea link towards north Mumbai.
B) North-bound vehicular traffic coming from Mahalaxmi Rly Station via Dr. E. Moses Rd.
Substitute Road: Proceed through Dr. E Moses Road-Rakhangi Chowk and take a right turn through Senapati Bapat Road towards their destination.
Eastern Express Highway: Vehicles coming from Eastern Express Highway on the way to the south can use Wadala Bridge, Barkat Ali Naka, BPT Colony, and Eastern free way for their further journey.
No parking zones and Alternative parking:
The Mumbai Police also identified certain no-parking zones on the Kerluskar Road and Ranade Road, among others during the processions. However, alternative parking places such as Senapati Bapat Marg and Kamagra Stadium are available for the public to park their vehicles.
Commuters are advised to check the traffic advisory and plan their journey to avoid last-minute hassle.
