PETA offers theater workshops for all ages for summer 2025

Already thinking of what to do in the summer?

The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is offering theater workshops for kids, teens, and adults for summer 2025!

Kids ages six to eight years old and nine to 12 years old can sign up for Children’s Theater 1 and Children’s Theater 1, respectively. Both courses, priced at P14,000, comprise 10 sessions that will run from April to May, culminating in a showcase

Children’s Theater 1 (six to eight years old) is the course for those who want their kids to explore their creative potential and develop self-confidence. It includes dance, songs, games, painting, puppetry, and more.

Children’s Theater 2 (nine to 12 years old), on the other hand, aims to foster older kids’ creativity, featuring sessions on music, visual arts, poetry, story writing, and drama improvisation.

PETA also has theater workshops for teens (13 to 17 years old), namely Teen Theater (P14,000) and Musical Theater for Teens (P15,000). Both courses include 12 sessions.

Teen Theater is a well-rounded course that covers various areas of theater, from creative drama, sound, and music to creative writing, body movement, dance, and visual arts.

Musical Theater for Teens is suitable for musically inclined adolescents. This course aims to work on one’s musical potential, and explores the interrelationship among the body, music, and storytelling.

Meanwhile, adults can check out three theater workshops from PETA in the coming summer.

These are Theater Arts (P14,000), Acting 1 (P15,000), and Creative Musical Theater (P15,000). Each course comprises12 sessions, and is open to 18-year-olds up to seniors ages 60 years old and above.

Theater Arts, which offers AM and PM sessions, covers the fundamentals of theater acting, improvisation, and theater production.

Acting I, on the other hand, is all about the skill of acting. Aside from the basic knowledge of acting, the course will also teach participants the right skills and attitudes that are expected of stage performers.

Lastly, Creative Musical Theater is specific to the art of musical theater, offering sessions on musical performance, composition, and production. It will also teach participants the various aspects that go into a musical production.

Two advanced workshops for adults are also offered by PETA, namely the Creative Musical Theater: Production Workshop (P16,000), applicable to graduates of PETA’s Creative Musical Theater Workshop, and the Meisner Technique Class (P13,000), applicable to PETA Workshop graduates.

Those who wish to enroll in any of PETA’s workshops may sign up through this registration form.

PETA just had a successful staging of “Tabing Ilog: The Musical,” which culminated on December 1.

The non-profit theater association is set to hold its Control + Shift: Changing Narratives Festival from February 6 to 23, 2025 at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City.
