Nithin Kamath, Zerodha’s co-founder and CEO, announced the feature in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Currently, it is available on Kite’s web platform, with plans to roll it out on mobile soon.
“We just added the Search by Brands feature on @zerodhaonline. Currently available on Kite web and soon on mobile,” Kamath said in his tweet. He also shared a screenshot of the feature, which showed a search for ‘Bullet’, the iconic motorcycle brand, displaying details for Eicher Motors, its parent company.

The feature simplifies finding stock information for users unfamiliar with company names but aware of popular brands.
Separately, Kamath recently voiced concerns over the surge in stock market frauds. Referring to a case where a Bengaluru techie lost ₹91 lakh to scammers, Kamath highlighted that fraudsters have swindled ₹11,000 crore over the last nine months.

“I dread to think what it will be like once the fraudsters use AI,” Kamath remarked on X.
He urged investors to tighten privacy settings on WhatsApp and Telegram to avoid being added to groups by strangers, sharing step-by-step instructions for users to enhance their safety.
