Philips Air Purifier Review: A breath of fresh air

Philips Air Purifier Review: A breath of fresh air
It’s that of the year when India, especially in the north, is choking on fumes, dust, smog — air pollution, in short. While this period is known for festive sales, th last few years have seen a trend emerge — an increasing demand for air purifiers. This year, AQI levels in the North have hit shocking levels, with Delhi crossing the 500-mark at one point.

Against this smoggy backdrop, Philips has released its latest lineup of air purifiers. The review unit I tested is the 900 Mini WiFi — the smallest of Philips’ newest line-up:  a compact, table-top air purifier that comes with smart functions and is priced reasonably at around ₹12,000. I’ve used the 900 Mini WiFI for about a month and a half, and here are my thoughts.

Standout Features That Make a Difference

The Philips AC0950/60 isn’t just another air purifier – it’s a powerhouse of cutting-edge technology designed to transform your indoor air quality. Here are the advertised features that Philips says set it apart:

  • Intelligent Air Quality Sensor: Constantly monitors your air, adjusting settings for optimal performance
  • Superior Filtration Efficiency: Captures even the tiniest particles, leaving your air pristine
  • Energy-Efficient Operation: Keeps your electricity bills in check while purifying your air
  • Sleek, Modern Design: Blends seamlessly with any home decor
  • Whisper-Quiet Operation: So quiet, you’ll forget it’s even there!

Performance That Speaks Volumes

Since bringing this air purifier into my home, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my indoor air quality. The most noticeable changes?

  • Reduced Allergies: Particulate matter in the air tends to clog up my nose and, over the years, I have given a fortune to manufacturers of nasal sprays. Over the past month I noticed a change — nothing drastic: my nose tended to clog up noticeably less than it used to before.
  • Less Dust: I live in an area that constantly has residents constructing or renovating their homes, which means a tonne of dust enters my house. But with the air purifier, surfaces within a 300 sqmt radius have been cleaner.

It was like having a personal air quality guardian working 24×7 to keep my home’s atmosphere fresh and clean.

Living with the 900 Mini WiFI

After about 45 days of use, I can confidently say that this air purifier has become an indispensable part of my home. Its intuitive controls and set-it-and-forget-it operation make it a hassle-free addition to any room.

And the best part? I barely notice it’s there, thanks to its quiet operation.

Standout Features

The Philips 900 Mini WiFi stands out in two crucial areas:

  1. Quieter Operation: It’s so silent that you can comfortably use it in bedrooms without disturbing your sleep. It has three modes, medium, turbo, auto, and sleep. The auto mode automatically adjusts the flirtation speed based on the pollutants it detects in the air. You can also set a sleep mode schedule so that the 900 Mini WiFi is at its quietest when you need it to be.
  2. Energy Efficiency: Keeps your air clean without skyrocketing your electricity bills

The Good and The Could-Be-Better

Pros:

  • Excellent air quality improvement
  • Energy-efficient operation
  • Whisper-quiet performance
  • Stylish design
  • Intelligent air quality sensing

Con:

  • May be overkill for very small spaces

Final Thoughts: A Breath of Fresh Air

The Philips Air Purifier 900 Mini WiFi has left me impressed. Its combination of intelligent features, quiet operation, and energy efficiency make it a standout choice for anyone looking to improve their indoor air quality.

If you’re tired of dealing with allergies and dust, or just want to ensure you’re breathing the cleanest air possible, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this air purifier a try. Your lungs (and your dust cloth) will thank you.
