Credit card changes in December: SBI, Axis Bank, YES Bank revisions | As we approach December, banks like SBI, Axis Bank, and YES Bank are rolling out significant updates to their credit card structures, including changes to fees, rewards, and transaction charges. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
SBI Card | From December 1, 2024, SBI Card introduces a 1% fee on utility payments over ₹50,000, affecting payments for electricity, water, gas, and other services. Also, reward points will no longer be offered for spends on digital gaming platforms, impacting several SBI credit cards like AURUM, SimplyCLICK, and Gold SBI Cards.
Axis Bank | Axis Bank will implement a new redemption fee from December 20, 2024. Customers will incur charges for redeeming EDGE Rewards or Miles: ₹99 for cash redemptions and ₹199 for transferring points to mileage programs. Additionally, several fees will be revised, including interest rates, penalty charges, and transaction fees on wallet loads, fuel spends, and rent payments.
YES Bank | YES Bank is also revising its rewards structure from December 1, 2024, with a cap on reward points for flight and hotel redemptions. Additionally, starting April 1, 2025, new spending thresholds will apply for complimentary lounge access across YES Bank credit cards.
Aadhaar card free update deadline – December 14, 2024 | The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar updates to December 14, 2024. If you need to update your Aadhaar card details—such as name, address, or date of birth—you can do so free of charge until this date via the online portal. After December 14, a processing fee will be applicable for any updates.
Belated ITR Filing: Final opportunity until December 31, 2024 | For those who missed the original ITR filing deadline on July 31, 2024, there is still time to file your Income Tax Return for the Financial Year 2023-24 (FY 24). The belated filing window is open until December 31, 2024, but be aware that a late fee of ₹5,000 will apply.
