Heart Evangelista said that Senator Chiz Escudero’s previous health scare was a wake up call for them.
In the latest episode of “Heart World,” the Global Fashion Icon recalled the “most unforgettable moment in her life” that she wishes to never happen again.
According to Heart, she was on her flight going to Thailand from Hong Kong on March 28 when she received a message that Chiz might be going to the hospital.
“I kinda saw it coming. First wala siyang tulog lagi so he wasn’t really able to sleep. I felt as if he’s not being careful with his health. I saw that,” Heart said.
“The last time I spoke to him the night before I left Hong Kong, nakita ko ‘yung mata niya na parang medyo may something. Tapos sabi ko ‘anong nangyari sa mata mo?’ Tapos sabi niya, nalagyan lang daw ng moisturizer. May weird feeling na ako noon, and then the next day when I spoke to him through video call, nakita ko sa mukha niya na medyo iba na ang hitsura niya. Parang may something wrong,” she recalled.
Upon arriving in Bangkok, Heart immediately booked a flight back to Manila and went straight to the hospital.
Heart went on to describe the entire ordeal as a “nightmare.”
“Nightmare siya kasi he’s somebody that would be the last person you’d think that will be there, that cannot do anything,” she said.
As per Chiz, what he experienced was a hypertensive episode, which he was diagnosed with two years ago.
Looking back, Heart had realized many things and one of them is the importance of family.
“What I realized is aanhin mo lahat ng ‘to kung wala ka namang taong you’d like to share it with. For me, your time here on Earth with your loved ones is far more important than all the riches and whatever fashion week [in the world],” she said. “I would rather be with my family.”
Heart also realized the true essence of life.
“Life is so precious. You make the most out of it. You are blessed to be a blessing,” the Sparkle star said.
In an interview in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the Kapuso actress said that she makes sure that everything is perfect when it comes to Chiz’s wellbeing after his health scare.
“Kasi if he goes, I go. You jump, I jump. I swear. Ako na lang mauna, ‘di ko talaga kaya,” she said.
“Heart World” aired its debut episode on October 26. It airs on GMA Network on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. after “Magpakailanman.”
