“Wonder if @DOGE will adopt this like @SpaceX has,” it said alongside the image.
Musk, who strongly backed Donald Trump throughout the US presidential campaign this year, was earlier nominated by the US President-elect for the important role in his upcoming administration.
Alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, Musk will head the Department of Government Efficiency, informally called ‘DOGE’, which looks forward to cutting down excess government expenses.

The algorithm mentions five points —
Make Requirements Less Dumb
Delete the Part or Process Step
Optimize
Accelerate
Automate
In reply to the post, Musk wrote, “This simple algorithm that I came up with to help me make fewer dumb mistakes in the future is incredibly powerful”.
In the comments section, several social media users said this algorithm could help DOGE increase its ‘efficiency’.
“Remember when Elon Musk said the Twitter Code needed a complete rewrite? The way the US Government operates also needs a complete rewrite for the same reasons,” one person wrote.
Another one added, “I think this is great to adopt at DOGE too!”
A third person wrote, “I truly can’t imagine how great our government can be if the waste is removed and the performance is optimized. About $4T in tax dollars is taken yearly. That power is ridiculous.”
The different points in the algorithm start with ‘Make Requirements Less Dumb’, which clearly highlights the need for accountability of requirements on an individual basis. To make communication easier and fast-paced, the requirement should come with a specified name or clue.
Another thing on Musk’s algorithm is deleting any part of the process, accompanied by advice on simplifying and optimisation.
