The lucky man, Balasubramanian Chithambaram, clinched the top prize after he purchased a gold chain for his wife from a jewellery store three months ago.

The shop, named Mustafa Jewellery, which held the contest, declared him as the winner of the lucky contest last Sunday.

“What an unforgettable day at Mustafa Jewellery’s Million Dollar Event! On 24th November, we witnessed history being made as the grand winner of USD 1,000,000 was revealed amidst cheers and excitement,” the store captioned the post in which it shared a video capturing the major highlights from the event.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us. Keep sparkling and stay tuned for Mustafa Jewellery in 2025,” it added.

To be eligible to participate in the lucky draw, the customers were required to spend more than ₹15,786 on jewellery. During his visit to the store, Chithambaram bought ornaments worth around ₹3.7 lakh for his wife.

After winning the prize money, Chithambaram said he was feeling blessed, adding it was also his father’s fourth death anniversary. He added that he now plans to donate a portion of the prize money to the community as a token of gratitude.
