“We are excited to extend our network to Thailand from Kolkata, adding a daily service to Phuket alongside our existing 11 weekly flights to Bangkok. With this new route, IndiGo will operate 93 weekly flights between India and Thailand,” said Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, in a statement.
He added, “Phuket, Thailand’s largest island, is famous for its beautiful beaches and rich cultural offerings. Additionally, Thailand’s visa-free policy for Indian citizens is expected to further boost demand. IndiGo is committed to offering affordable, on-time, and hassle-free travel experiences across our wide network.”
The airline highlighted that this new route will improve connectivity for travelers from eastern India to Phuket, promoting increased tourism between the two regions.

The new flights will also bolster trade and tourism ties between India and Southeast Asia. Kolkata, India’s first metropolitan city, is rapidly developing its infrastructure to accommodate the growing demand for travel to Southeast Asia, the airline noted.
The Kolkata-Phuket flights will operate six days a week: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, flight 6E 1901 will depart Kolkata at 6:00 am (IST) and land in Phuket at 10:40 am (local time). On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the flight will leave Kolkata at 6:50 am and arrive in Phuket at 11:35 am. On Sundays, the flight will depart at 6:50 am and reach Phuket at 11:40 am.
The return flight, 6E 1902, will depart Phuket at 11:40 am and arrive in Kolkata at 1:20 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, it will leave Phuket at 12:35 pm and reach Kolkata at 2:20 pm. On Fridays, the flight will depart Phuket at 11:55 am and land in Kolkata at 1:40 pm, while on Sundays, it will leave at 12:40 pm and arrive at 2:20 pm in Kolkata.
