India team will not travel to Pakistan for next year’s Champions Trophy
India cricket team will not be traveling to Pakistan to play the next year’s ICC Champions Trophy.  External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar confirmed about India’s plan to not to visit the neighbours during his press conference in Delhi on Friday.

The team is inhibited due to security conditions prevailing the country.

The PTI on Thursday reported that the International Cricket Council in a spot of bother as its all-powerful board, the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board, hold a virtual meeting today.

With India not willing to travel to Pakistan, ICC is hopeful that PCB accepts the “Hybrid” model where the UAE will hold the league stage matches followed by knockout games in Pakistan.

But Pakistan too are not ready to relent as they want the complete tournament to be staged on their soil.

“We’re still clear in our stance that it’s not acceptable that we play cricket in India, and they don’t play cricket here. Whatever will happen, will happen on the basis of equality. We’ve told the ICC very clearly, and what happens next we’ll let you know.” PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said in Lahore.
