For the IPL mega auction, there is a change in the RTM rule. This rule change is explained with an example.

Kolkata Knight Riders have released their skipper from previous season Shreyas Iyer. Iyer’s base price is Rs 2 crore. During the auction, there is a bidding  war for Iyer and Mumbai Indians have the final bid of Rs 25 crore. he auctioneer would then ask if KKR want to use their RTM card. If KKR opt to use the RTM card for Iyer then Mumbai Indians will have the chance to up their bid one final time. If MI increase their bid value to 30 crore then KKR must match the bid to get Iyer back.
