Founder and Chairman K Ajith Kumar Rai noted that it is still too early to assess the effect of new US tariffs, as the details remain unclear.
Any tariff changes would affect all component suppliers uniformly, with additional costs likely being passed on to customers after initial negotiations, he told CNBC-TV18.
While some major automotive companies have discussed plant closures, Rai said Suprajit has not faced significant disruptions.
He pointed out that the company’s controls division, which operates outside India, continues to perform well.
While the overall automotive market may not be expanding much, Suprajit continues to see positive momentum in its business.

Suprajit Engineering is a manufacturer of automotive cable and halogen bulbs.
The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Chuo Spring Company to establish a 50:50 joint venture (JV) in India.
The collaboration aims to design, manufacture, and supply transmission cables, with a Technical Assistance Agreement providing the JV access to Chuo’s advanced technology.
Initially, the JV will focus on executing projects for two leading Japanese passenger vehicle (PV) original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India.
In the July-September quarter, Suprajit Engineering’s consolidated revenue grew by 9% to ₹1,508 crore. The EBITDA margin expanded to 12.2% from 10.4%.

The company’s current market capitalisation is ₹6,398.40 crore, and its shares have risen nearly 25% over the past year.
