Jos Buttler | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Jos Buttler has represented Rajasthan Royals in the last seven seasons of the Indian Premier League. Before Rajasthan Royals bought Buttler in 2018, he had played two seasons of the IPL for Mumbai Indians. England’s white-ball skipper is a hard-hitting wicketkeeper batsman who opens the innings. The 34-year-old has played 107 IPL matches and scored 2907 runs at a strike rate of 147.52 and averages 38.10. Buttler has hit 7 hundreds in the league, which is second most behind Virat Kohli’s 8 centuries. (Image: IPL)
Shreyas Iyer | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Shreyas Iyer lifted the coveted IPL trophy earlier this year as Kolkata Knight Riders won the league under his captaincy. Despite clinching the IPL title under his captaincy, the team management decided not to retain him. Iyer was named Emerging Player of the Year for scoring 436 runs in his debut IPL season in 2015. Five years later he led Delhi Capitals to their first IPL final, however Delhi lost that final to Mumbai Indians. Iyer joined Kolkata in 2022. Rishabh Pant | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Rishabh Pant has been the face of Delhi Capitals since 2016. Pant’s breakthrough season came three years later when in 2019 he was the team’s second highest run-scorer – 488 at a strike rate of 162.66. Two years later the wicketkeeper batsman was made the team’s captain when Shreyas Iyer got injured. Earlier this year Pant made a return to the IPL after suffering career-threatening injuries following a car accident in December 2022. In 2024 season of the IPL Pant scored 446 runs. The 27-year-old has played 111 IPL games and scored 3284 runs at a strike rate of 148.93 and averages 35.31. As a wicketkeeper he has been involved in 98 dismissals. (Image: IPL)
Kagiso Rabada | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Kagiso Rabada was first brought into the IPL when Delhi Capitals (then known as Delhi Daredevils) bought him in 2017 for Rs 5 crore. The South African speedster stayed with DC for four seasons. The 2020 IPL has been his most productive season when he he finished as the season’s highest wicket-taker, taking 30 wickets as Delhi Capitals played an IPL final for the first time. Rabada was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 9.25 crore during the IPL 2022 auction. Overall, Rabada has played 80 games and picked 117 wickets. (Image: IPL)
Arshdeep Singh| Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Arshdeep Singh is now India’s premium pace bowler in T20Is. He has been one of the IPL’s success stories in recent years. Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) bought the left-arm fast bowler during the 2019 IPL auction for just Rs 20 lakh. IPL 2021 proved to be Arshdeep’s breakthrough season as he picked 18 wickets in 12 IPL games. IPL 2024 was his best season till date as he claimed 19 scalps. Despite being one of the key members of the Punjab squad for the last six seasons, the team decided not to retain him. Mitchell Starc | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Mitchell Starc and Kolkata Knight Riders created history during the IPL 2024 auction. KKR splashed a record sum of Rs 24.50 crore during the auction and made Starc the most expensive player in the league. The Aussie pacer repaid the faith shown in him by the KKR management by picking 17 wickets in 14 matches. His bowling was one of the key factors in KKR lifting the IPL trophy in 2024. Starc’s first season in the IPL was in 2014 when he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite being a lethal white-ball bowler, in 10 years Starc has played only 41 IPL games and picked 51 wickets. It was a surprise that KKR let go their most prized possession. (Image: IPL)
Yuzvendra Chahal | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | With 205 wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal is the highest wicket-taker in the IPL. Chahal is one of the most seasoned bowlers of the IPL. He made his IPL debut in 2013 when he played for Mumbai Indians. That season he could feature in only one game. In 2014 Royal Challengers Bangalore singed him for Rs 10 lakh and Chahal’s IPL career took an upward trajectory. At RCB Chahal became a strike bowler become the team’s highest wicket-taker in just seven seasons but surprisingly the franchise chose not to retain him ahead of the 2022 mega auction. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.5 crore and IPL 2022 became his most successful season as he picked 27 wickets including a hat-trick. Liam Livingstone | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Liam Livingstone is the second Englishman who has been tagged as a marquee player for the IPL 2025 mega auction. Livingstone is a key member of England’s ODI and T20I teams. The 31 year-old is an all-rounder known for his huge hits and ability to bowl leg spin and off spin with equal control. Livingstone made his IPL debut in 2019 when he featured for Rajasthan Royals. In 2022 IPL auction he was signed by Punjab Kings. In total he has played 39 IPL games scored 939 runs and picked 11 wickets. (Image: IPL)
David Miller | Base Price: Rs 1.5 crore | After Kagiso Rabada, David Miller is the second South African listed as a marquee player for the IPL auction. Miller is a hard hitting batsman. He made his IPL debut in 2012 when Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings) bought him at his base price of $100,000. He stayed with the Kings for eight seasons before making a move to Rajasthan Royals in 2020. After spending two years with the Royals he was bought by then then newcomers Gujarat Titans in 2022. IPL 2022 proved his best season as he scored 481 runs in 16 matches. The 35 year-old has played 130 IPL games scored 2924 runs at a strike rate of 139.23. (Image: IPL)
KL Rahul | | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | KL Rahul made his IPL debut in 2013. He played just five games for Royal Challengers Bangalore that year. He spent the next two seasons of the IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad before making a return to the RCB albeit for one year only. He was bought by Kings XI Punjab in 2018. He remained with Punjab for four years before switching his allegiance to Lucknow Super Giants where. He has been Lucknow’s skipper for the past three seasons. Rahul has scored 590 runs in each season from 2018 to 2022 although there have been question marks on the pace at which he gets those runs Despite taking LSG to two consecutive playoffs, his batting returns haven’t necessarily been satisfactory from a strike rate perspective. Mohammed Shami | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Mohammed Shami is making a gradual retun to cricket after struggling with injuries for nearly a year. Shami has represented four IPL teams. He first played for Kolkata Knight Riders before making a move to Delhi Capitals. He remained with DC for three years before he was signed by Punjab Kings. After playing for the Kings for three years he was bought by Gujarat Titans. The pacer has played 110 IPL games and picked 127 wickets. Mohammed Siraj | Base Price: Rs 2 crore | Srunrisers Hyderabad gave Mohammed Siraj his first breakthough when they signed him for Rs 2.6 crore during the 2017 IPL auctions. That year Siraj played 6 matches for SRH and picked 11 wickets before getting released ahead of the next auction. The fast bowler was then bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Siraj has been a RCB player ever-since before being released. The right arm pacer has played 93 IPL games and picked 93 wickets. (Image: IPL)
