- Staff in LA Dunkin’ Donuts stores have also reported more footfall after the ad
Dunkin’ Donuts has hit just the right spot with their new Ben Affleck partnership with their tracksuits completely selling out in only 19 minutes.
The hilarious star-studded Super Bowl advert aired on Sunday, featuring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Tom Brady.
The commercial sees the trio crash Jennifer Lopez’s recording session wearing outlandish orange tracksuits, introducing their band – ‘The DunKings’.
Not only was the clothing in high demand but so too were the matching pink bucket hats, which are now out of stock, as the merchandise broke records becoming the fastest-selling in Dunkin’ history, TMZ reports.
Luckily for fans scrambling to get their hands on the popular tracksuits, the donut chain say they are in the process of restocking.
But Dunkin’ Donuts aren’t only aspiring to cash in on their hugely successful merchandise, they also hope the new ‘DunKings’ menu will do strong numbers too.
The limited-time menu also stands to temporarily – but also hugely – boost profits for the company.
Although the privately held fast-food chain doesn’t publicly reveal their numbers, celebrity partnerships have proved to be fruitful for food brands, such as the collaboration between McDonald’s and Travis in 2020.
Affleck’s 2023 Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial previously helped the company sell more donuts the next day ‘than any other day in history,’ a source told CNN.
According to three separate CNN sources, Affleck bagged around $10 million dollars for his Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial in 2023.
This year’s Super Bowl advert has reportedly helped boost footfall in LA stores, with staff telling TMZ they had been ‘pretty busy’ since the goliath sporting event.
The ‘DunKings Menu’ serves up Ben Affleck’s favourite iced coffee, which includes a sweet cold foam topping, cream and a dusting of cinnamon sugar.
The drink also boasts a ‘DunKings Munchkin skewer’ with three donut holes sitting on a stick above the drink similar to an ‘olive in a martini’.
The Super Bowl advert starring rapper Jack Harlow, Fat Joe, and Jennifer Lopez, sees the musicians horrified when ‘The DunKings’ begin to preform.
Entering the studio clad in a blinged-out jacket, Affleck shouts: ‘What up, Bronx?’
He performs awkward choreography as his wife looks on, stunned. At the end, she whispers: ‘We talked about this,’ and Affleck looks dismayed.
As he and Damon head out, Lopez tells Brady – who’s manning the keyboard – that he can stay.
Affleck has aligned closely with the brand and was even spotted handing out food at two locations in Massachusetts as part of a separate ad campaign.
The limited time ‘DunKings’ menu – which is only available via the Dunkin’ app – also includes an iced coffee with hazelnut and whole milk, raspberry flavoured iced tea as well as an egg sandwich on an everything-seasoned bagel.
