JTL Industries shares gain after company bags order worth ₹24 crore for the Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu

JTL Industries on Wednesday, February 5, said it has secured an order worth ₹24 crore from the public health engineering department of Jammy to supply 3,000 metric tonne of galvanised iron pipes of assorted sizes.

The order is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission and is to be delivered within the next 30 days. The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched in August 2019 to transform rural water access, provide adequate and safe drinking water via individual tap connections. The government has now extended the Jal Jeevan Mission till 2028.

“The extension of Jal Jeevan Mission presents significant opportunities, and with our established track record as a trusted supplier to the government, JTL is well-positioned to support its next phase,” the company’s management said in a stock exchange filing.

In November 2024, JTL Industries was selected as an L1 bidder for an order worth 265 crore related to Jammu’s Jal Jeevan Mission.

Under the contract, the Chandigarh-based company has to supply SI-certified galvanized mild steel (GMS) tubes for 95% of the sizes, amounting to 35,473 MT of the total order, the company said in an exchange filing.

JTL Industries shares were trading 4.27% higher at ₹102.29 apiece at 10.50 am on Wednesday, February 5. The stock has fallen 24.26% in the past year.
