Delhi Polls Begin: Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections started on Wednesday at 7 am. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is contesting for a third consecutive term, highlighting its governance track record. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are attempting to regain political ground in the capital. Around 1.56 crore eligible voters will decide the outcome. Polling is being conducted at 13,766 stations across all 70 constituencies.

Jaishankar, Rahul Among Early Voters: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were among the early voters. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia voted soon after polling began. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva participated in the early voting process. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and Chief Electoral Officer R Alice Vaz also exercised their franchise.

Key Candidates Vote Early: Several candidates contesting the elections voted in the morning. AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj, who is contesting from Greater Kailash, was among the first to cast his vote. BJP’s Karawal Nagar candidate Kapil Mishra and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit, who is contesting from New Delhi, also voted early. Congress’ Kalkaji candidate Alka Lamba was among those who turned up at polling stations soon after voting began.
