Air India Express expands connections to Northeast India by adding more flights
Air India Express has announced an expansion of its flight services from three key northeastern cities — Guwahati, Agartala, and Imphal — under its winter schedule. As part of its broader plan to enhance winter operations across India, the airline has increased weekly flights from Guwahati to 106, up from 63 last winter.

Guwahati is now directly connected to eight domestic cities: Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, and Kolkata. Additionally, passengers from Guwahati can access 18 one-stop domestic destinations and six international ones.

In Imphal, Air India Express has boosted its flights to 34 per week, an increase of 20 over last year. Since launching services in Agartala in September 2024, the airline has also raised its weekly flights from 14 to 21, offering direct connections to Guwahati and Kolkata, as well as one-stop service to 11 domestic cities.

With its fleet now exceeding 90 aircraft, Garg emphasised the airline’s readiness to meet the growing demands of emerging Indian cities.
