In a Group A clash, Tilak, who had already registered centuries against South Africa in Centurion and Johannesburg, added another to his tally with a spectacular knock against Meghalaya in Rajkot. The left-handed batsman scored an explosive 151 off just 67 balls, which included 14 fours and 10 sixes, leading Hyderabad to a massive total of 248/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

By achieving this milestone, Tilak also became the first Indian male cricketer to score a 150+ in T20s. (Note: Kiran Navigere, a women’s cricketer from India, had scored 162 for Nagaland against Arunachal Pradesh in the 2022 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.)
Opening partner Tanmay Agarwal also contributed significantly, making 55 off 23 balls. Hyderabad’s bowlers, Anikethreddy and Tanay Thyagarajan, dominated the opposition, sharing seven wickets between them as they bowled Meghalaya out for just 69, clinching a dominant 179-run win.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer, who was released by Kolkata Knight Riders despite leading them to the IPL 2024 title, proved his mettle with a stunning unbeaten 130 off 57 balls (11 fours, 10 sixes) for Mumbai in their Group E match against Goa. His innings propelled Mumbai to a total of 250/4. Although Goa fought back strongly, posting 224/8, Mumbai emerged victorious by 26 runs.
Suyash Prabhudesai top-scored for Goa with 52 off 36 balls, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat.
