Before 2009, the constituency was known as Jawhar (ST) but was reconstituted as Dahanu (ST) following delimitation. Nikole’s win is particularly remarkable given the BJP-NDA’s strong performance in the Maharashtra assembly results.
The party has dedicated this win to the people of Dahanu and Talasari tehsils and lauded the tireless efforts of the thousands of dedicated CPI(M) and MVA activists. Nikole’s exemplary work as MLA over the last five years was also one of the decisive factors in his victory.
To celebrate this win, a massive victory procession, led by Nikole and other MVA and party leaders, was held in Dahanu on Saturday. Another large victory rally is scheduled in Talasari town on Sunday, November 24.
The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance secured a landslide victory over the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the Maharashtra assembly elections. The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is eying victory in at least 234 seats, while MVA is currently leading in 50, as per the latest trends by the Election Commission.
