Dharavi election results 2024 Live: Congress’ Jyoti Gaikwad wins seat with 23,459 margin
Located in the Mumbai South Central Lok Sabha region, Dharavi is one of the 10 Assembly constituencies in the Mumbai City district reserved for Scheduled Castes.

In the 2024 election, Congress candidate Dr Jyoti Eknath Gaikwad won the seat with a margin of 23,459 votes. She got 70,727 total votes. In contrast, Rajesh Khandare, who received the Shiv Sena ticket to contest for the same seat this year, got the second most number of 47,268 total votes.

Before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Dharavi redevelopment project, undertaken by industrialist Gautam Adani’s group, had become a central issue.

The Congress repeatedly labelled the project as a “Modani enterprise”, while the Shiv Sena (UBT) took to the streets to oppose it. MVA leaders also claimed recent decisions by the Eknath Shinde-led Mahayuti government disproportionately benefit the Adani Group.
