Man and two teenage boys charged with Bedford bus station murder

A man and two teenage boys have been charged with murder following the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy near a town centre bus station.

Thomas Taylor was walking along Greenhill Street, near Bedford bus station at about 17:50 GMT on Wednesday when he was attacked, Bedfordshire Police said. He died later in hospital.

Ahmed Adam, 18, of Mardale Close, Kempston, and two boys aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with his murder, a police spokesperson said.

They have been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police say detectives have made three other arrests as part of their investigation.

A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man remain in police custody, while another 18-year-old man has been released on bail.

Det Insp Richard Stott, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain very much with Thomas’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“We understand this was a shocking incident and we would like to reassure our local community that we are working tirelessly on this case and would urge anyone with information to get it touch with us.”
