And the Serb was impressed and left a bit shocked as he witnessed a power hit from Australian cricketer Marucs Stoinis. The all-rounder, who is the captain of Big Bash League side Melbourne Stars, was in the thick of action as his side were taking on city rivals Melbourne Renegades for a crucial BBL tie.
The moment transpired during the eighth over of the Stars’ innings. Renegades’ bowler Tom Rogers bowled a full ball at Stoinis and Stoinis thumped the ball with all his power. The ball left Stoinis’ bat and went miles high in the air. It could not cross the boundary rope and was caught at long-on by Kane Richardson. A disappointed Stoinis had to walk back after scoring 18 off 10 balls but Stoinis brute power and the sight of the ball travelling miles high in the air shocked the 24-time Grand Slam champion. Djokovic’s reactions were caught live on the camera!

The Stars’ innings was stuttering at 55/5 when Stoinis lost his wicket. However Glenn Maxwell’s thunderous knock of 90 in 52 balls including four fours and 10 sixes helped the team recover and finish with a score of 165 in the stipulated 20 overs.
Melbourne Renegades are sixth in the ongoing season of the Big Bash League with six points from seven games. Meanwhile Melbourne Stars are at the bottom of the eight-team competition with six points from eight games.
