Sam Verzosa shared that he was among the men aboard the andas or carriage during the Feast of Jesus Nazareno this year.
On Instagram, the businessman and longtime devotee shared a video of his experience. Although this is his 16th Traslacion, this is his first time attending as a Hijos Del Nazareno member.
The Hijos del Nazareno is a group that accompanies the image of Jesus Nazarene. Among their tasks was to catch handkerchiefs to wipe on the Nazareno.
“Salamat sa mga kapatid ko sa Hijos del Nazareno at Tatay Orly sa pag gabay at pag sama sakin sa Andas,” Sam said in his caption.
“Viva Jesus Nazareno!! 16 taong panata at pasasalamat sa lahat ng sinagot na dasal at biyaya niya,” he added.
Sam also posted previous Traslacion experiences on his Instagram page.
There were more than 8 million devotees at this year’s Traslacion. Actress Kiray Celis and her boyfriend Stephan Estopia were among those who attended.
The procession left Quirino Grandstand at 4:41 a.m. and lasted 20 hours, 45 minutes and four seconds, according to Quiapo officials.
At 5:57 p.m. the “dungaw” in San Sebastian Church happened. It is a traditional event in which Jesus Nazareno meets the image of Our Lady Del Carmen De San Sebastian.
The image of Jesus Nazareno entered the church, the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo, Manila at 1:26 a.m.
Nazareno 2025 marks the first celebration since it was declared a “national feast,” which all dioceses in the country will observe, according to Quiapo Church rector and bishop-elect Jun Sescon Jr.
