GTPL Hathway Q3 Results | Net profit tanks 57% to ₹10 crore, revenue up 4%

Digital cable TV and broadband service provider GTPL Hathway Ltd on Thursday (January 8) reported a 57.2% year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit at ₹10.1 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2024.

In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, GTPL Hathway posted a net profit of ₹23.6 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company’s revenue from operations increased 4.3% to ₹887.2 crore against ₹850.8 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.

At the operating level, EBITDA dropped 12.6% to ₹105.3 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal over ₹120.5 crore in the year-ago period.Also Read: GTPL Hathway Q2 Results | Net profit plunges 63% to ₹13 crore, revenue up 10%

The EBITDA margin stood at 11.9% in the reporting quarter against 14.2% in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.

GTPL Hathway’s digital cable TV segment saw a year-on-year increase of 200,000 active subscribers, bringing the total to 9.60 million. Paying subscribers also grew by 200,000, reaching 8.90 million. This contributed to a total subscription revenue of ₹3,024 million.

In the broadband segment, GTPL Hathway added 37,000 subscribers year-on-year, bringing the total broadband subscriber count to 1.04 million. The company’s homepass reached 5.95 million, with 75% of it available for FTTX conversion.

Broadband ARPU stood at ₹465 per month, reflecting a slight increase of ₹5 compared to the previous year. Additionally, average data consumption per user grew by 6%, reaching 365 GB per month.

The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of GTPL Hathway Ltd ended at ₹148.25, up by ₹12.20, or 8.97%, on the BSE.
