Miss Universe Organization withdraws Miss Universe Argentina title from Magali Benejam

The Miss Universe Organization has withdrawn the Miss Universe Argentina title from 2024 pageant candidate Magali Benejam.

The organization made the announcement through a press release, saying the decision came after “a thorough review of recent public comments” made by the beauty queen.

“Our values focus on celebrating diversity, promoting inclusion, and respecting all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, beliefs, or experiences. The words and actions of our representatives must reflect these unwavering principles to which all participants commit upon joining the Miss Universe community,” Miss Universe said.

“The decision comes after careful consideration and aligns with our commitment to uphold the highest standards of personal and professional conduct.”

The organization added that the action was taken to protect its integrity as well as the opportunities it provides to women around the world.

“We thank the public for their understanding and continued support as we work to ensure that the Miss Universe Organization remains an example of excellence and social responsibility.”

According to a Latin Times report, Magali claimed in a YouTube interview that judges appeared surprised after the announcement of the Top 5 contestants in Miss Universe 2024.

“The judges started looking at each other as if to say, ‘This isn’t what we chose,'” she was quoted as saying.

She also alleged that Miss Denmark Victoria Kjaer Theilvig had security guards with her ahead of her crowning moment and that the final result had been decided 10 days before the coronation night.
