US-headquartered airline Delta Air Lines and Uber have announced a multi-year partnership that will allow Delta SkyMiles members to earn miles when using Uber services, including Uber rides and Uber Eats.
The deal, announced during Delta CEO Ed Bastian’s keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, will go live this spring, though an exact launch date has not been disclosed.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, said, “We’re focused on making airport travel efficient and effortless, and we’re thrilled to partner with Delta to provide customers the opportunity to earn miles with Uber services.”
Once accounts are linked, customers can earn SkyMiles on UberX airport rides (one mile per dollar spent), Uber Comfort and Uber Black rides (two miles per dollar), and Uber Reserve trips (three miles per dollar). Customers will earn one mile per dollar for Uber Eats orders over $40 from restaurants or grocery stores.

The partnership also allows SkyMiles members to redeem their miles for Delta flight upgrades, hotel bookings, and purchases with partner brands. Uber customers will benefit from enhanced pickup and drop-off services at Delta hubs.
This move comes as Delta ends its eight-year partnership with Lyft, which will officially conclude on 7 April. Customers with linked Lyft accounts will be informed about the transition and can continue earning miles until that date.
Delta has been expanding its loyalty programme partnerships, which include Starbucks, Hertz, and Ticketmaster. Loyalty programmes like SkyMiles are a significant revenue source for airlines, with Delta estimating $7 billion in 2024 earnings from its American Express partnership.
