17 children with cancer to receive medical assistance from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Seventeen children with cancer are set to benefit from GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Kapuso Cancer Champions Christmas Project this 2025.

According to “24 Oras” on Monday, the annual project will provide medical assistance to its beneficiaries. One of its beneficiaries, Dang, is a young girl who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July 2024.

Dang’s mother, Jessica Oro, shared that her daughter, who is undergoing chemotherapy and blood transfusion, misses her hair.

“Sabi ko, ‘Hindi ‘nak, babalik din naman ‘yan pero wag ka mag-aalala kasi nasa proseso tayo ng paggaling tsaka hindi ka pababayaan ni Lord,'” said Jessica.

Per Rikki Escudero-Catibog, COO & EVP of GMA Kapuso Foundation, the 17 beneficiaries for this year’s Kapuso Cancer Champions Project come from underserved families and have good prognosis.

“We provide free chemotherapy, free blood transfusions, vitamins, and other medical needs nung mga bata,” said Escudero-Catibog.

“Ang nais ko lang naman ipahatid na may pag-asa ang cancer sa mga bata ganun din sa mga adult. Early detection. Ipagamot at may chance na gumaling sila,” said Dr. Ramon Severino, pediatrician at East Avenue Medical Center.

The foundation also provided gifts and held fun activities for the 17 beneficiaries.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation’s projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit GMA Kapuso Foundation’s website for more information.
